#KickTush Tuesday: The Devil Made Me Do It !!!
The amount of temptation outside the home is enormous. First there’s the office, and the lure of the overflowing bowls of candy in the mailroom, the enticing chocolate chip cookies that your cubicle mate is munching on (rather loudly, I might add), the vending machines that call out your name on the hour every half hour whose voice you mistake for a real friend. (Just call out my name and you know wherever I am, I’ll come running …)
Then you head to a restaurant for dinner and the waiter places the bread basket right in front of you, he drizzles extra virgin olive oil on your plate – even though you’ve clearly asked him not to – as he announces the specials of the evening. Sometimes there are food vendors on the streets to taunt you and, of course, the ubiquitous fast food restaurants. And then there is the unexpected – the samples at the grocery store!
How much temptation can one person take before they crack? Not that much!!! It is therefore essential that you make your home a safe haven. A place free of the devil’s food!
It’s true, Tushkateers*, Devotees of Our Lady of Weight Loss, unfortunately will power a.k.a. your want power muscle does not come with an endless supply of energy. Again, you can only say “No, Thank You” so many times before a “yes” manages its way to your plate. It’s not wise to expend your precious energy on controlling yourself in your own home.
1. Think about it.
2. Clear out the pantry, the fridge, the hiding places of tempting foods that do not support your goals.3. Stock your fridge with the “right” stuff a.k.a. fruits, veggies a.k.a. real food!
Sometimes it’s that simple!
